Vision Statement

ASNAP is an organization started, founded and established by parents, guardians and service providers of special needs children and adults. The goal is to provide an expanding array of programs and services that will be driven by the needs of our communities. We will initially focus on programs for the community of Arlington, Cambridge, Everett, Lexington, Medford, Somerville, and Winchester. However, individuals from other communities will also be welcome to participate.

We will begin by offering a small program of social and sporting events. We hope that this conservative beginning can grow to provide year round social and sporting events as well as life and career support services. We will work with the local school systems, religious , youth service, programs, and non-profit organizations to foster a cooperative and comprehensive approach to address the needs of the community.

This organization is dependent on volunteers and the contributions of private citizens like you.

Request information from our email: admin@asnapinc.org.

Most of the current members are adults 23-66 years of age. Our volunteers average 50+. What we need the most are some parent / guardians / helpers with special needs children in the 10 - 20 year group to help run activities designed for them.   We need some infusion of younger people to continue.

To volunteer and find out additional information, email us at admin@asnapinc.org.

Our Structure

The organization will be a legal non-profit 503(c) 1 corporation managed by an Executive Committee. This committee will consist of a President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. The Executive Committee will convene at a minimum of every other month with additional meetings as needed.

There is a Board of Directors consisting of ten members including the four Executive Committee members. One of the other board members will be a member of the special needs community and five elected at large. The Board of Directors will meet in the first and third quarter of each year and additional meetings as needed.
